ARCHITECTURE IN VIRTUAL REALITY (LIGHTING & MATERIALS)
"Architecture" can mean:
- A general term to describe buildings and other physical structures.
- The art and science of designing buildings and (some) non-building structures.
- The style of design and method of construction of buildings and other physical structures.
- The knowledge of art, science & technology and humanity.
- The practice of the architect, where architecture means offering or rendering professional services in connection with the design and construction of buildings, or built environments.
- The design activity of the architect, from the macro-level (urban design, landscape architecture) to the micro-level (construction details and furniture).
Lighting Design in Architecture
Architectural lighting design is a field within architecture, interior design and electrical engineering that is concerned with the design of lighting systems, including natural light, electric light, or both, to serve human needs.The design process takes account of:
- the kind of human activity for which lighting is to be provided.
- the amount of light required.
- the color of the light as it may affect the views of particular objects and the environment as a whole.
- the distribution of light within the space to be lighted, whether indoor or outdoor.
- the effect of the lightened system itself on the user.
Concept of Lighting Design.
Lighting normally depends on what areas are needed to be well lit for the job to be accomplished.For Example, A Warehouse, Focus on saving money so they use more energy saving lights, that's why they are not lit very well. Surgical Rooms however, use bright and well lit lights, to accomplish the task at hand without any distractions to vision. Finally, Casinos and Clubs use different set of lighting to enhance their appearance, to make the area more attractive and inviting.
