Week 3 ( Final Proposal)



Title
Simulation- Architecture- Material & Lighting


Abstract
User is allowed to change and adjust lighting (e.g. Light fixtures, Intensity) and materials (e.g. Wall Paper, Flooring) to design their future home,without much spending and wastage of materials in order to not spend on future renovations.


Target Audience
25 & Above (Working Adults)


Goal
The Goal of this application is to allow user to design lighting and adjust materials according to their liking. Nowadays, money is an issue to most of the society, buying a new home can be a burden but what if the user is allowed to adjust what they need in their home to cut cost on renovations. Virtual Reality allows the user to accomplish all this, with a click of a button. This project has been done on rendered images, but now applying Virtual Reality with the Oculus Rift, user is allowed to change and adjust in real-time.

Objectives
List down the objectives of the application will achieve.  Objectives are SMART
1. The objective of this application is to teach users basic knowledge about light fixtures and materials and how lighting plays with emotion
2. To allow user to learn different types of lighting that can be used in a home.
3. Allows the user to adjust the lighting based on the the users liking.

Benchmark [min 3 benchmark]
Architectural Walkthrough (Lumion), Photo Realistic Rendered Images by GDP, Virtual Home Environment on the Oculus Rift (Only Walkthrough).
                                       
                                       

Description
User will be given instruction on how the application works after the user have clicked on the button play.
Level 1:
User is allowed to choose from fixed plans (templates) of an apartment or a single story house. Both containing a standard 3 rooms & 2 bathrooms but the square feet is different in size.

Level 2: User is then allowed to choose between Various sets of Lighting and Materials to apply to the plan of their choice. They will be allowed to view their efforts in a Day and Night simulation. They can place and change the intensity, position and the type of light fixtures or materials.

Level 3: User is then allowed to finalise their satisfied area, and save their progress to push on to interior designers and Electrical Technicians.
